The Whatcom Environmental Council runs a lean organization. Most of our labor is contributed by our Board members which provide their combined experience to advocate for environmental issues.  Our operating expenses are less than $25,000 per year.

​When we decide that we need to take legal action, we incur costs to cover that litigation. While we try hard to avoid litigation, sometimes it is necessary in order to make sure that our environmental values for Whatcom County are a priority - not an afterthought.
