One of the reasons for organizing the Whatcom Environmental Council was to stay abreast of current environmental issues in Whatcom County. More eyes monitoring and tracking agency agendas and meetings can lead to more effective input to decision-makers.
Whatcom Environmental Council's Board is comprised of people familiar with local agency agendas and actions, as well as many of the decision-makers and staff involved in these actions.
When we see something on the local agency agenda that we think is an important issue affecting the environment, we want to inform ourselves and the public. The agencies that we are monitoring and tracking are listed below. When an issue arises that calls for input or action, we will be advocates and encourage others to join us.
See our Advocacy page or our Eyes on Whatcom Blog for more in-depth review and discussion of issues.
